Canadian Blood Services
Summary of Your Needs & Logistics:
Contact: Sara Holmes; Interim Manager, Canadian Blood Services
Date(s): Saturday May 11th, 2024
Location: Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre in Maple Ridge
Retreat Logistics: The group is hoping to stay over the weekend, arriving on Saturday and then departing on Sunday, staying at the Koerner Lodge.
Pinnacle Program Schedule: Saturday for full day programming (9am-5pm).
Summary of People/Group Demographics: Participants are in their 20’s to 40’s, average health and fitness abilities (with one ankle issue and with a few slightly overweight).
Summary of Invitation, Context & Objectives: Sara Holmes from Canadian Blood Services in Abbotsford has invited Jonathan and Pinnacle Pursuits to work with the 20 staff from the Canadian Blood Services team for a full day of group dynamics/development/team-building activities at Loon Lake.
Hopes and Goals for this Experience: There has been a change in management to help course correct and create a more positive, consistent leadership environment. Overall, the hope is to have a positive memorable day of engaging, interactive, inclusive, and most if all, fun activities! Focus is about connecting, bonding, building relationships, working together, and having a rest/recharge together (moving out of ‘survival’ mode). The idea is to have more fun together through outdoor activities vs. an indoor workshop approach.
Proposed Program for this year:
Based on our recent phone call, planning is just at the beginning stages at this point with exact agenda content and activities still TBD. For now, this is an initial proposal for a full day of facilitated programming.
Program Options: Based on the objectives, we’ll start with creating context along with some fun icebreaker and connection activities (touching on a bit of group dynamics context/framework) followed by several ‘adventurous’ activities the group can do together. These could include our Serious Play team-Building activities, the Low Ropes Course, Woodland Orienteering/Adventure Race (Scavenger-hunt style), a competitive Team Spirit Challenge, or the High Ropes Course.
*Please see below for:
1) A link to your one-page PDF downloadable proposal with an agenda/activity options, including a cost range summary.
2) Short summary descriptions of our various program activities (reflect proposal), each with an associated link to a downloadable PDF hotsheets.
We look forward to hearing from you to collaborate and discuss next steps!

OUR WHY:
WE BELIEVE...that in a world that is constantly changing in complexity, continues to grow in demands and expectations, and where ‘disconnect’ is becoming more prevalent, the same thread of humanness continues to run through each of us: the need and drive to be curious, learn, connect with others, understand and be understood, feel valued among peers, trust one another, take risks, challenge ourselves, be healthy and happy, live and work with purpose, and achieve. These qualitative experiences may be difficult to measure, but that does not undermine their importance; they have an enormous impact on personal growth, confidence, happiness, and overall performance and success in all areas of life. We believe that these are the most important qualities and values for both individuals and teams, and also for humanity as a whole.
At Pinnacle Pursuits, we dedicate our work and focus to the design and delivery of such experiences.
