Location: Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge
Group size(s): 1st event for 29pp (hybrid employees); then 2nd event for 50-60pp (all staff)
Summary of Invitation, Context & Objectives:
Based on Pinnacle Pursuits partnership with Loon Lake as the provider of experiential learning and facilitation programs, adventure-based events and team-building activities, Romelyn from UCanWest has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose a full day of unique team-building activities. She has asked that we propose potentially two separate events during their professional development retreats – one for managers and supervisors in March, and the other event for all employees in July.
The focus for Pinnacle Experience will be to bring people together to connect, get inspired to engage with one another, have fun, and create shared memories through a series of indoor and/or outdoor interactive team-building activities and adventure-based experiences.
Retreat Logistics: The request is for a full day of custom training and team-building activities to meet the goals of the group.
Proposal Options: As discussed on the phone, for the group of 29pp in March, we are including several options to fill the day (please see below for detailed descriptions). These include ‘The Marshmallow Challenge', a fun indoor creative design-build activity, ‘Serious Play’, all-inclusive team-building activities and the 'Amazing Adventure Race', In teams of 6, each team is be divided in half and given walkie-talkies - Teams will work together in half, on opposite sides on the course, using their walkie-talkies to communicate to complete checkpoints as needed. We are also including other adventurous event and activity options for your information, whether they be relevant for the March event or the event in July. These include ‘Team Spirit’, ‘Adventure Play’ (includes various activity choices like high ropes, low ropes, and rock climbing), or ‘Adventure Play Wellness Day’.
We are also including information about our facilitated Interactive Training Workshops.
Investment & Costs for a Pinnacle Program Experience:
- For a 6.5-7.5hr full day program for 29pp, that includes a morning workshop / activities plus an afternoon event (9-4:30pm), typical cost ranges from $4,500 - $5,750.
- For a 3-3.5hour half-day program for 29pp, cost would be $2,850 - $3,750.
Note 1: For your larger group of 50-60 pp in July, for a half to full day, we would be looking at around the $5,250-9,500 price range, respectively.
Note 2: Cost range depends on exact event/content, logistics, event duration, number of people, and degree of customization.
*Opportunity for Discount: If we were to book both programs, we’d be able to offer you a 10% discount off the combined cost.
Inclusions: Cost includes any upfront discussions as required, full event management, planning and paperwork, onsite staff team, staff travel, event set-up and tear-down, activity supplies and equipment as necessary, and $5 million comprehensive liability insurance.

Proposed Program Activities:
Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional as is degree of facilitation (activity choice customized for each group based on group dynamics and training objectives).
The Marshmallow Challenge
This challenge is a world renown, fun and instructive exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but profound lessons in collaboration, creativity & innovation. This fast-paced activity inspires a shared learning experience, opening up various possibilities to achieve success - or not!
*Great option to have in addition to our Interactive Workshops or half day outdoor programs.
Amazing Adventure Race
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based ‘scavenger hunt-style’ experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
*Option for unique upgrading scenario with radios.

Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! This is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities.
Adventure Play at Loon Lake,
Maple Ridge
A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing). Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge.
Adventure-Play-Wellness Day at Loon Lake, Maple Ridge
The best mix of of various adventure-based and wellness experiences options from which participants can choose (ie. lantern making, candle-making, personal leadership/goal-setting, clay-work, circle drumming, and high ropes, rock climbing & more) that will help get people out of the city and make any experience refreshing, interactive and fun!
Interactive Training Workshops
Facilitated personal and professional development training topics. These may include Strategic Visioning & Values, Clear Communication=Clear Leadership, Team Understanding & Diversity (Who’s on the Team?), Creative Problem-solving and Navigating Change. These are often customized for each group to meet their specific learning, training, and organizational needs.
Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.
