Date(s): Monday September 25th - Tuesday September 26th, 2023
Location: Both days at Loon Lake Lodge in Maple Ridge
Length of Time: 2 Half Days - Day 1: Between Lunch & Dinner (1/1:30pm - 4:30/5:00pm) | Day 2: Between Breakfast & Lunch (9:00am-12:00pm) or after Lunch (1:00-4:00pm)
Invitation, Context & Objectives: UBC Science One Program has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to help host them during their stay Loon Lake for their first year university students. They have roughly 80 people staying at Loon Lake for this one night retreat. Overall the main focus is to connect, be outdoors, rest and relax with intentions to have activities that inspire team spirit.
Proposed Program Format:
Based on your objectives, the number of people attending, and overall timing over the 2 days, Pinnacle Pursuits is proposing to have the students split into 2 groups of 40 people over the 2 days for programming based on our needs for group sizes and overall facilitation requirements. The idea would be to have 2 different team-building experiences going on at the same time on Day 1 in different locations at Loon Lake, and then on Day 2 they switch for an equal experience overall.
Proposed Programs/ Activities:
Based on dividing the students into 2 groups over each day, we have created a proposed agenda with 3 different options for you to review. Based on having 2 different sessions each day, you can choose 2 out of the 3 options listed below. These options will bring out the best in people, have students connecting with each other, working together collaboratively, and overall create an environment for playful fun, laughter, and lasting memories.
These include:
Option 1 - ‘Team Spirit Challenge’ (2.5-3.5hr of competitive survivor-like team building games in different teams) & possibility add-on of ‘Serious Play’, (1 hr of playful, interactive games and activities that are carefully facilitated) *Requires 3-4 Pinnacle Staff
Option 2 - ‘Amazing Adventure Race’ (2.5-3hr) or ‘Orienteering Course Challenge’ (2.5-3 hr) - Both great opportunities to explore Loon Lake in a face-paced adventure, have teams working together in small teams, and tackle unique and fun challenges along the way. *Requires 3-5 Pinnacle Staff
Option 3 - ‘Adventure Play’ - (3 hrs of our various outdoor adventure activities in groups at Loon Lake: options could include: High or Low Ropes Course, Rock Climbing, Raft Building & more!) *Requires 4-5 Pinnacle Staff

Investment & Costs:
For a program of this nature, for a group of your size and requirements, for two half days, the cost range is between $7,000.00-8,500 for up to 80 people. This cost range is based on our activity options, and number of staff required (7-10) to facilitate over the 2 days. This includes full program planning/management, a full staff/facilitator team with meals & accommodation included, return travel/mileage, program handouts, all program equipment/supplies, and five million comprehensive liability.

Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! With a fun, strength-based approach, this is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities. Always makes for awesome photos and memories!
Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional as is degree of facilitation (activity choice customized for each group based on group dynamics and training objectives).
Amazing Adventure Race
Loon Lake, Maple Ridge
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based ‘scavenger hunt-style’ experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
Orienteering Challenge
In teams, participants learn to use traditional orienteering methods along with a ‘landmark legend’ and a set of guidelines, to navigate through their environment towards a variety of creative check point stations (mystery team challenges). The initiatives and will require teams to plan, strategize, communicate effectively, and regularly re-evaluate their decisions!
Adventure Play at Loon Lake,
Maple Ridge
A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing) that will help get people out of the board room and make any meeting or conference refreshing, interactive and fun! Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge.
