Length of Time: 2:00 - 6:30pm
Invitation, Context & Objectives: Based on multiple previous successful programs, UBC QMI has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose our team building experiences and outdoor activity options during their retreat at Loon Lake this September. They have approx. 90-120 people (based on numbers from 2022) participating in Pinnacle Pursuits programming that are excited about coming back to Lake Loon. There is a tremendous amount of enthusiasm for people attending this year and about 30-50% of attendees will be returning from last year. The main area of focus for this weekend retreat is allow the time and space for people to build/rebuild connections amongst each other and possibly envision the department evolution in the coming years ahead. QMI has the entire camp booked which means full access to all buildings & activities.

Investment & Budget Breakdown:
A good way to understand how we calculate our prices to help you budget is the following:
- Project Management and Administration Base Fee = $4,000-$7,000 + GST. Range is based on degree of customization, event choices, number of day(s)/length of day(s).
- Pinnacle Staff Fee (per staff/day) = $450-$650 + GST . Range is based on length of day(s).
*Pricing includes full program management, staff travel, program design and delivery, $5 million comprehensive liability insurance, all team building equipment & supplies, & program handouts if needed. Pricing does not include meals and accommodation for staff (if needed) , use of AV equipment (if needed), as well as custom swag/giveaways or awards/prizes for team-building activities.

In this document you will see we have divided our experiences & activities into 4 different categories: Team Dynamic & Group Leadership Activities, High Adventure Based Activities, Wilderness Skilled Based Activities, and Group Team Building Events. Along with each description, we have included the number of participants we can have for a rotation, the number of Pinnacle facilitators required, as well as the duration of the activity block. The purpose of providing this information for each activity is to help you start refining details & creating your desired agenda, as well as allow you to calculate an estimated budget range depending on activities chosen with required facilitators.

In-Person Team Building Programs Include...
Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, teams are given bandanas to compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! This is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities. *Can include additional customized awards/swag/giveaways at the end.
Orienteering Challenge
In teams of 4-5, participants learn to use traditional orienteering methods (map and compass) along with a ‘landmark legend’ and a set of guidelines, to navigate through their environment towards a variety of creative check point stations (mystery team challenges). The combination of initiatives and will require teams to plan, strategize, communicate effectively, and regularly re-evaluate their decisions!
Amazing Adventure Race
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based ‘scavenger hunt-style’ experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
Adventure Play at Loon Lake,
Maple Ridge
A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing). Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge.
Interactive Training Workshops
Facilitated personal and professional development training topics. These may include Strategic Visioning & Values, Clear Communication=Clear Leadership, Team Understanding & Diversity (Who’s on the Team?), Creative Problem-solving and Navigating Change. These are often customized for each group to meet their specific learning, training, and organizational needs.
The Marshmallow Challenge
This challenge is a world renown, fun and instructive exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but profound lessons in collaboration, creativity & innovation. This fast-paced activity inspires a shared learning experience, opening up various possibilities to achieve success - or not!
Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional as is degree of facilitation (activity choice customized for each group based on group dynamics and training objectives).
Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.
