Invitation, Context & Objectives: Tracey from Squiala First Nation School has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose a team building program on their Pro-D Day that will allow the teachers to re-connect, re-engage with each other, and overall go through this experience together at an off-school location. The team is made up of 18 teachers who will be participating together.
Proposed Program/Format:
Being a portable program in the Fraser Valley, we have outlined a proposed agenda below based on our recommended activities along with your preferences. The core of the content involves a morning session of fun, light-hearted ‘Serious Play’ activities to allow teachers to get to know each other on a deeper level, then progressing to a memorable Dragon Boating experience with support from the Sudden Impact Paddling Club on the water at Cultus Lake after lunch. We have included these descriptions for you to review, as well as other popular programs for your information.
Proposed General Agenda:
9/9:30-11:30am - Welcome & Introductions, Icebreakers & Serious Play Activities (possible indoor location or else at Main Beach - with washrooms; or Sunnyside Beach)
11:30am- 12:15pm - Lunch & change of clothes
12:30 - 2pm - Dragon Boating on the water - 2 boats (maximum staff:paddler ratio is 4:16)
2:00 - 2:30pm - Wrap-up and complete the day with debriefing & sharing key takeaways
Investment & Costs:
For a full-day program of this nature as proposed, for a group of 18 people, price would be approx. $3,500. Cost includes 2 dragon boats with coaches & steers people, program design, planning and paperwork, group activity set-up and equipment, water safety supplies including PFDs & paddles, staff for land & water activities, $5 million comprehensive liability insurance, return mileage/travel for staff. Group to provide their own lunch. If we choose to have the morning indoors ie. Cultus Lake Community Hall, we will be happy to inquire about availability & additional costs. We will supply a Welcome Letter which will include how to prepare for the day.

Recommended Activities for Squiala First Nation:
Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional as is degree of facilitation (activity choice customized for each group based on group dynamics and training objectives).
Dragon Boating Adventure
This Dragon Boating Adventure is a unique corporate experience at the lake to promote physical health and fitness, collaboration,
teamwork, leadership development, and fun! Participants will learn the skills to work together to paddle safely, paddle fast, and have tons of fun on these sturdy 20-person boats, all whilst enjoying the breathtaking beauty of Cultus Lake.

In-Person Team Building Programs Include...
Interactive Training Workshops
Facilitated personal and professional development training topics. These may include Strategic Visioning & Values, Clear Communication=Clear Leadership, Team Understanding & Diversity, Creative Problem-solving and Navigating Change. Orienteering Challenge
In teams of 4-5, participants learn to use traditional orienteering methods (map and compass) along with a ‘landmark legend’ and a set of guidelines, to navigate through their environment towards a variety of creative check point stations (mystery team challenges). The combination of initiatives and will require teams to plan, strategize, communicate effectively, and regularly re-evaluate their decisions!
Amazing Adventure Race
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based ‘scavenger hunt-style’ experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! This is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities.
Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.
Adventure Play at Loon Lake,
Maple Ridge
A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing). Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge.
