Para Space Landscaping

Number of Participants: approx 150
Location: Location is TBD. Ultimately the one-day conference will be held at an indoor venue somewhere near/in Burnaby or in the Lower Mainland easily accessed by a nearby Skytrain station.
Length of Time: approx. 3-3.5hr indoor event (ie. 1-4pm)
Invitation, Context & Objectives: Catherine Deacon from Paraspace has once again invited Pinnacle Pursuits to work with the Para Space team; this time to propose a half-day fun, meaningful and memorable team-building event for 150 staff to take place on Friday February 23rd, 2024 during their annual all-staff, company-wide kick-off event.
Hopes and goals at this point is to provide the time and space together to have a socially fun, high spirited, high energy, (possibly competitive), memorable shared event for all field staff and managers to experience as part of their season kick-off!
Proposed Program/Agenda:
Based on our recent discussion, planning is just at the beginning stages at this point with exact agenda content and activities still TBD. For now this is just an initial proposal with vision ideas and budget options. What was discussed included an approx. 3-3.5hr indoor event (ie. 1-4pm) to bring out the best in everyone!
Program options: As discussed, we are including our 3-3.5hr Indoor, Conference-based Team Spirit Challenge. In addition, we can also offer a less competitive 2.5-3hr option, which includes a 1hr creative design & build challenge followed by a 1.5hr Indoor Serious Play event (a series of fun problem-solving games & initiatives).
Proposed Agenda for Indoor Team Spirit Challenge
- 1-1.5hr – Set-up time required (possibly during lunch time)
- 1-1:30pm – Strat with Welcome, Mindset, Icebreaker(s)
- 1:30-2pm – Teams Sorted & Event Briefing (4 teams of 4 colours; divided into 6-8 sub-teams of 6-8pp); Team Name & Chant Contest
- 1:45-3:45pm – 4-8 Team Activity Rotations (will require designated indoor spaces); includes half-time break
- 3:45-4:15/4:30pm – Creative Team De-brief with Story Boards; Wrap-up with event results and awards (TBD); Woo-hoo!
*We’d be happy to provide an agenda for the 2nd event option if necessary.
Investment & Costs:
Cost range for full program event management, design and facilitation is $12,000- $14,500 ($80-97pp) depending on which event (Team Spirit on the higher end and Serious Play on lower-end), degree of customization, and final logistics. Includes any upfront discussions/consulting as required, planning and paperwork, onsite staff team, staff travel, team-building activity supplies and equipment as necessary, and $5 million comprehensive liability insurance. Note: We’ll be happy to work with you to provide preferred event requirements for venue as well as a list of some possible location options, however additional time and resources for venue research/sourcing/organization would be charged at a rate of $150/hr for a minimum of 2hrs.
Discount option/offer: As I mentioned, we do have another large event booked that day, so if we book early we can/will be available to host an awesome event that fits your needs (obviously)! However, if your event date is flexible, we’d be happy to lower our quote by 10% if we are able to change the date to another mutually agreeable day.

This experience is a series of tried and tested unique, light-hearted, adventurous indoor team building initiatives and contests = that will have participants working together, laughing together and celebrating together!
Serious Play
For Indoor Events & Conferences
A series of fun indoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional!
The Marshmallow Challenge
This challenge is a world renown, fun and instructive exercise that encourages teams to experience simple but profound lessons in collaboration, creativity & innovation. This fast-paced activity inspires a shared learning experience, opening up various possibilities to achieve success - or not!

Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional as is degree of facilitation (activity choice customized for each group based on group dynamics and training objectives).
Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! This is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities.
Orienteering Challenge
In teams of 4-5, participants learn to use traditional orienteering methods (map and compass) along with a ‘landmark legend’ and a set of guidelines, to navigate through their environment towards a variety of creative check point stations (mystery team challenges). The combination of initiatives and will require teams to plan, strategize, communicate effectively, and regularly re-evaluate their decisions!
Amazing Adventure Race
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based ‘scavenger hunt-style’ experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.
Interactive Training Workshops
Facilitated personal and professional development training topics. These may include Strategic Visioning & Values, Clear Communication=Clear Leadership, Team Understanding & Diversity (Who’s on the Team?), Creative Problem-solving and Navigating Change. These are often customized for each group to meet their specific learning, training, and organizational needs.
