Summary of Invitation, Context & Objectives:
Based on Pinnacle Pursuits successful relationship with Lululemon, Katrina Anderson has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose a half or full day of custom team-building activities for 65 lululemon people on June 20th.
The focus for the Pinnacle Experience will be to bring people together to connect, get inspired to engage with one another, have fun, and create shared memories through a series outdoor, adventure-based interactive team-building activities and experiences.
The event is currently in its initial broad envisioning stage; for now, however the following are some preliminary logistics and event ideas. If and once we move on, we can then begin to refine program details.
Retreat Agenda / Logistics:
For the morning…currently the group is looking at using an indoor venue near their offices for a meeting and catered lunch (we also discussed possibly using this space in case of adverse weather conditions).
Then in the afternoon, after lunch, would be the Pinnacle Experience (3-4hrs).
Current Proposal Options: As discussed on the phone, we had discussed several half-day events (or combination of) that work well within the scope and desired goals of the group. Please refer to the descriptions further below (and their respective downloadable PDF Hotsheets).
In summary, these include:
- Granville Island Amazing Race (allow 2-2.5hrs, or an extended race to 3-4hrs)
- Team Spirit Challenge (allow 2.5-3hrs) – can be done at any public park location, like Granville Island, Stanley Park, or Jericho Park / Beach (can be modified to an indoor location)
- Serious Play (allow 1-2hrs) – can be done at any public park location, like Granville Island, Stanley Park or Jericho Park / Beach (or indoor location)
- Dragon-boating (allow 1.5hrs) (located at Creekside Community Centre near Science World)
- *Note: Icebreakers & Energizers (allow 30-60mins) – a series of fun team games and initiatives to introduce the day, establish context and mindset, and get the group energetically aligned and inspired!
- Indoor activities or an all-day event with a training workshop in the morning followed by an afternoon outdoor event - can also be discussed.
Choose a combination: Many of the above programs work well when combined in a 3-4hr time period, ie. Serious Play (1-1.5hrs) followed by Amazing Race followed by a fun creative de-brief (2-3hrs), OR Ice-beakers (1hr) with Team Spirit (2.5hrs), etc.
Investment & Costs for a Pinnacle Program Experience:
- For a 3-4hr half-day program for 65pp, cost range would be $9,500-11,000, depending on the specific program chosen, final logistics, etc.
Inclusions: Cost includes any upfront discussions as required, full event management, planning and paperwork, onsite staff team, staff travel, event set-up and tear-down, activity supplies and equipment as necessary, and $5 million comprehensive liability insurance.

Proposed Programs for Lululemon:
Team Adventure Challenge, Granville Island
In teams of 4-5, participants will be issued a set of guidelines, customized map & orienteering course with cryptic clues & tasks, to navigate towards a variety of creative checkpoint stations. Teams will experience the unique & eclectic community of famous Granville Island seeking, finding and interacting with a variety of high sensory experiences, shops & vendors. The combination of initiatives will require teams to plan, strategize, communicate effectively, & regularly re-evaluate their decisions! Super fun!
Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! With a fun, strength-based approach, this is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities. Always makes for awesome photos and memories!
Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Competition is optional as is degree of facilitation (activity choice customized for each group based on group dynamics and training objectives).
Dragon Boating Adventure
Paddling either 10 or 20-person canoes, led by a professional team of dragon boat instructors, your group will benefit from the expertise of trained facilitators to help guide through the basics of dragon boat paddling skills and learn to work together to paddle safely, paddle fast, & have tons of fun!
Icebreakers
& Energizers
These powerful yet playful activities provide short lively interludes to engage, energize and motivate your team and help them get to know each other. This event provides a perfect option for meetings, conferences, dinner events, or training sessions.
Interactive Training Workshops
Facilitated personal and professional development training topics. These sessions are often customized to fit your specific group dynamics as well as your organizational culture, learning and development goals.

Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.

Includes many activity options.
