Invitation:Ā Based on BC Federation of Student's retreat atĀ Loon Lake, Phoebe has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose/host a fun, interactive team building event to align with their overall theme and learning objectives.
Group Context/Summary:
There will be 125Ā participants representing various student unions.
Program Theme/Goals/Objectives:
The main goal of the session is to connect, bond and build a sense of collegiality and community, through an experiential hands-on approach, with a focus on understanding leadership styles, and building communication skills.
Proposed Program/Agenda:
With the use of all indoor/outdoor facilities at Loon Lake except the Koerner Building, based on our recent phone call, weād be looking at most likely dividing the group into two groups with the following agenda:
- 1:00pm - Meet at the field for welcome, context, framing (and possibly a few icebreakers). Divide group in half to participate in two rotations (45-60mins each). Based on timing and logistics we can also meet at the gym.
- Group 1 - Stays at the field and rotates through a 3-4 strategically designed and chosen fun, creative, interactive, hands-on activities that bring out peopleās natural styles and tendencies (with simple de-brief questions and discussions, making the most from reflective-learning through action). *See Serious Play description.
- Group 2 - Goes to gym for a mini-workshop on understanding personal leadership styles (through a short assessment) and self-awareness/management, along with some key communication frameworks/tips on how to convey information and needs effectively, while engaging, motivating, empowering people to own it and take action. We will need screen/PowerPoint capability for a short presentation/video.
*Note: we can certainly highlight key concepts in 2hrs, however, for optional effectiveness, weād like to propose a 2.5-3hr workshop so we have time to move between workshops, and that participants can receive full learning value. For a small added cost, we could also include a high impact design build activity called the Marshmallow Challenge with top leadership lessons, that we teach at the Sauder School of Business (this would require the additional time).Ā
Cost & Investment:
Cost range for this particular program for 125pp for 2-4hrs (half day program) is $3,500-$4,500 ($30-35pp) depending on final agenda, degree of customization/handouts, etc, and final logistics (Note: this includes a discount of 40% compared to our typical corporate adult training programs). Cost includes discussions/consulting as required, project management, program design, planning and paperwork, required staff/facilitators, staff travel, activity supplies, handouts, and equipment as necessary, and $5 million comprehensive liability insurance.

Team Spirit Challenge
An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! With a fun, strength-based approach, this is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities. Always makes for awesome photos and memories!
Orienteering Challenge
In teams, participants learn to use traditional orienteering methods along with a ‘landmark legend’ and a set of guidelines, to navigate through their environment towards a variety of creative check point stations (mystery team challenges). The initiatives and will require teams to plan, strategize, communicate effectively, and regularly re-evaluate their decisions!
Amazing Adventure Race
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based āscavenger hunt-styleā experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
Amazing Adventure Race: Remote Radio Course
Each team will be split in two & given 2 radios along with maps and clues. The challenge will require teams to strategize carefully, make key decisions, adapt as needed, and communicate via radio in order to complete all creative challenges, checkpoints, and problem-solving tasks successfully.Ā This is an intense experience that mirrors working as a remote team!
Adventure Play at Loon Lake, Maple Ridge
Ā A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing) that will help get people out of the board room and make any meeting or conference refreshing, interactive and fun! Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge.
Adventure PlayĀ at Camp Pringle, Shawnigan lake
A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing) that will help get people out of the board room and make any meeting or conference refreshing, interactive and fun! Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Pringle Camp & Retreat, Shawnigan Lake.
Corporate Picnic Adventure Day
Includes many activity options. Adventure-Play-Wellness Day

Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.
Dragon Boating Adventure
Paddling either 10 or 20-person canoes, and led by a professional team of dragon boat instructors, your group will benefit from the expertise of trained facilitators to help guide them through the basics of dragon boat paddling skills and learn to work together to paddle safely, paddle fast, and have tons of fun!
Virtual Team Building
During our Virtual Programs, each participant will use their skills and creativity in a way that may have taken a back seat in today’s remote work-life. In addition, we debrief each event, so that all participants can learn how to relate and apply the experience to their everyday life and business environment. The overall benefit for you? You will see how your team can continue to grow and connect, even when physically apart.
