Invitation, Context & Objectives:
Taryn from AbCellera has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose an afternoon session for their team of approx 130 at Loon Lake on their second day as a kick-off for their retreat. This team building event will act as a bit of an icebreaker - it will be one of the first things on the schedule & some employees may be meeting each other for the first time. Historically people have enjoyed activities that bring in an element of friendly competition and have elements that play to various strengths (mental, physical, problem-solving, etc) so people who see themselves as less athletic don't walk away feeling like it was a poor experience. The full camp is booked over the retreat.
Proposed Program Format:
Based on your objectives, the number of people attending, and overall timing, Pinnacle Pursuits is proposing to have participants split into 3 groups of 40+ people based on our needs for group sizes, location space and overall facilitation requirements. The idea would be to have 3 different adventures / team-building experiences going on at the same time.
Proposed Program:
Based on dividing the participants into 3 groups over the afternoon, we have created 3 different activity options - that the 3 groups can do simultaneously. And they will be able to choose two activities in the 3-4hr time period. These options will bring out the best in people, have people connecting with each other, working together collaboratively, and overall create an environment for playful fun, laughter, and lasting memories.
These include:
Activity 1 - ‘Mini-Team Spirit Challenge’ (1.5hrs) – A series of fun competitive survivor-like team building games in 8 teams of 5-6, in the field.
Activity 2 - ‘Mini-Amazing Adventure Race’ (1.5hrs) - A great opportunity to explore Loon Lake in a face-paced adventure, have teams working together in small teams (10 teams of 4-5), and tackle unique and fun challenges along the way.
Activity 3 - ‘Raft-Building’ - (1.5hrs) – In 8 teams of 5, participants must design, build and attempt to float/paddle/race their ‘home-made’ raft made of a series of unique materials that include plastic pallets, barrels, ropes and lumber! Paddles up!

Investment & Budget:
For a half-day program of this nature, customized to meet your objectives, the cost range for up to 130 people is approx $95-$100pp + GST depending on exact activities, customization, logistics, and staff required. Includes any upfront discussions/consulting as required, custom program design, planning and paperwork, staff team as needed & meals for staff team, team-building activity supplies and equipment as necessary, $5 million comprehensive liability insurance, and full program management. Cost does not include swag/awards/giveaways.

An event where the whole group is together in the same area, and teams compete in series of unique high-energy, amazing ‘Survivor-like’ group challenges that require problem-solving, trust-building and creative teamwork solutions! With a fun, strength-based approach, this is a great event for including diverse needs and abilities. Always makes for awesome photos and memories!
Amazing Adventure Race
Be ready for a high-impact adventure-based ‘scavenger hunt-style’ experience! Teams are given a map, legend, course and clues and compete in a unique team adventure challenge, racing through the local trails and beautiful wilderness setting whilst finding and completing strategically hidden and customized checkpoint challenges and team building initiatives.
Adventure Play
At Loon Lake, Maple Ridge
A series of various adventure-based experiences and options from which participants can choose (ie. canoeing, raft-building, archery, low ropes and high ropes, rock climbing). Located at one of our partner 'Adventure-Centre': Loon Lake Lodge & Retreat Centre, Maple Ridge.

Serious Play
A series of fun indoor/outdoor facilitated activity-based team initiatives, for groups that require more focus on group dynamics, social interaction, team-work and fun! Paddle & Play Day
Paddle & Play is a unique land & water team-building event that combines your choice of one or several of our land-based activities with either traditional Voyageur Canoes or Dragon Boating. Teams will divide and take turns being on land and on water. They will compete in a series of challenges where teamwork, strategy, problem solving, collaboration, and a sense of fun are key to team and organizational success.
Dragon Boating Adventure
Paddling either 10 or 20-person canoes, and led by a professional team of dragon boat instructors, your group will benefit from the expertise of trained facilitators to help guide them through the basics of dragon boat paddling skills and learn to work together to paddle safely, paddle fast, and have tons of fun!
Corporate Picnic Adventure Day
Includes many activity options. Imagine a super fun, interactive, company-wide experience where everyone has the time and space to relax, connect, recharge, play together as colleagues and/or as families, and at the same time accomplish something uniquely different, where company values are promoted and celebrated, and new friendships and memories are created!
Interactive Training Workshops
Facilitated personal and professional development training topics. These may include Strategic Visioning & Values, Clear Communication=Clear Leadership, Team Understanding & Diversity (Who’s on the Team?), Creative Problem-solving and Navigating Change.
