Summary of Your Needs & Logistics:
Contact: Jen Dowdeswell
Number of Participants: 13-14
Date: April 29th, 2022
Location: UBC
Length of Time: Afternoon 1/2 Day Session - Exact time TBD
Invitation & Context:
The SHCS Department has invited Pinnacle Pursuits to propose a 1-day Professional Development interactive training and team-building experience. There will be about 13-14 participants in various Directors roles of various departments, including 3 new additions (including 2 Directors).
When in full capacity, there are about 2000 employees, however with COVID many staff were laid off, and units were closed. The department is currently struggling to get new staff to fill roles, such as housekeeping and front line food services staff. The last ‘offsite’ event was done via Zoom back in June 2020 which included an SDI, but it did not seem to stick. Overall, they did appreciate the breakout rooms and chatting.
Event Vision & Objective:
The overall objective of this event is to use the time for people to get together, connect, laugh, and have fun together. It's more about allowing the group to connect in-person and not necessarily focus on the business strategy and operations (the ‘heavy stuff’), more to just connect as people and be human.
Proposed Program & Agenda Flow:
We had discussed the idea of starting the day with some fun having light-hearted icebreakers and connection activities, followed by an engaging and interactive personal-professional development workshop with the focus on Emotional Intelligence. With a learning element around leadership (for example Leading in complexity – from Ordinary to Extraordinary or maybe Lead with empathy and conviction.
Investment & Budget:
For a group of your size, typically a half day workshop or team-building event will be in the range of $2,500-$3,500 (based on exact program details and amount of customization). Specifically, as proposed, for an Emotional Intelligence workshop followed by Serious Play, the price would be approximately $4,500 and for Emotional Intelligence followed by Team Spirit Challenges, we would be looking closer to $5,250.
