Managed by Pinnacle Pursuits, The Fraser Valley Outdoor School is a four season, year-round experiential-based program committed to exposing youth aged 11-18 years, to a variety of new experiences, focused on outdoor adventure, leadership, and life skills.
Hands-on experiences mix the best of outdoor adventure and physical challenges, creative expression, social-emotional-cognitive development, community impact and leadership, skill-based learning, financial literacy, and career preparation.
The program consists of regular weekly field trips, interactive skill-based workshops and adventure-learning events that take place throughout the year. Programs run year round on Weekends, Pro-D Days, Spring Break & Summer Holidays.

Empowering Our Youth in a Complex, Post-pandemic World:
There is no denying, the pandemic changed things. No matter what your age, screen time has increased, anxiety has grown, and ability to focus has dropped. This has increased the need for rebuilding physical and social skills in youth.
Research shows that youth who experience optimal levels of regular physical challenge, mental stimulation and creativity, and positive social interaction, are healthier, happier and more fulfilled. They have a stronger sense of control, a more positive outlook, and a greater self-esteem.
In addition, the more that is done in the early years to support our youth, will benefit the community on many levels into the future.
Naturally, we are all different in how we learn, develop, and interact in our environments. As we know not all kids are cut out for school; when it comes to our youth, the 'four walls' may not always be the answer. Thus, youth who do not connect with the traditional learning environments require other modes of thinking, doing, learning, motivation and interaction to help them feel confident and empowered to make healthy decisions and move forward with purpose.
The Fraser Valley Outdoor School strives to do just this!
Programs are Based on Three Age Categories & Respective Goals:
Ages 11-13 (Middle School)
To meet the needs of this age group, this program focuses on physical challenges through outdoor learning adventures, positive social-emotional-cognitive skills, teamwork, resiliency, and community involvement and leadership. We work closely with other professionals in the educational system and in their community network to support Middle School and Junior High integration.
Ages 14-15 (Junior High)
To meet the needs of this age group, this program focuses on physical challenges through outdoor learning adventures, positive social-emotional-cognitive skills, teamwork, resiliency, and community involvement and leadership. We work closely with other professionals in the educational system and in their community network to support Senior High school integration, with an option of supporting enrollment and participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Program.
Ages 16yrs + (Senior Secondary)
To meet the needs of this age group, this program focuses creative expression, skill-based learning, community impact and leadership, life skills, and career and entrepreneurial training. We work closely with the other professionals in the educational system and in the business community to prepare these teens for the transition to further training, work opportunities, and ultimately, adult-hood. Option of supporting or continuing support of enrollment and participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Program.
